Lifting Clutch:


It is a facility used during the lifting of precast concrete blocks to connect Lifting Anchors. It can quickly engage in the reserved connection point and also be swiftly detached when lifting precast concrete blocks to specific positions. It is divided into two types based on the type of Lifting Anchors: Spherical Head Lifting Clutch and Lifting Ring Clutch.

 

Lifting Ring Clutch is used in conjunction with Lifting Spread Anchors. Specific information about it will also be elaborated below.

 

Spherical Head Lifting Clutch (Dog Bone Lifting Eyes):


Also known as Dog Bone Lifting Eyes or Dog Bone Lifting Clutch, it is designed to be used with Spherical Head Lifting Anchors. It consists of three parts: Head (for connecting Spherical Head Lifting Anchors), Ring (for connecting the handle and head), and handle (for connecting the hoisting machine). They undergo rigorous sampling testing before leaving the factory. Each product can meet usage standards. Therefore, it cannot be modified arbitrarily, as this would invalidate its original test results. If modifications are necessary, they must undergo rigorous testing before being put into use. There is often no clear limit on the number of times it can be used, but strict companies often require replacement after dozens of uses. We mark in the product catalog when it should not be used. Production:


Its head is precision cast, the ring is forged, the handle is laser-cut or stamped, and the overall assembly is welded.

 

Reasons for using a lifting clutch.

 

Usage:


Coupling:

Before installation, we need to first inspect its appearance and proceed to the next step only when it's ensured that it can be used normally.

Place the opening of the head near the groove of the Spherical Head Anchors on the concrete block.

Push the ears of the head forward to fully engage it.

The schematic diagram after installation is shown in Figure .

Lifting:

It supports two lifting methods, when the Lifting Anchors are parallel to the horizontal plane (as shown in Figure ) and when they are perpendicular to the horizontal plane (as shown in Figure 2).

During lifting, the angle between the handle and ears should not exceed 90°.

During lifting, it is important to note that the lifting direction should not be as shown in the cross mark in Figure 1, as it may damage the concrete block.

Release:

The Lifting Clutch can be removed only after the concrete block has been lifted to a specific position and the load has been removed.

You can push the ears to separate the head and Lifting Anchors as shown in Figure 3.

The separated Lifting Clutch should be kept away from Lifting Anchors to prevent accidental reconnection and accidents.

 

Lifting Ring Clutch:


It consists of Locking Bolt, Head (for connecting Lifting Spread Anchors), Ring (for connecting the handle and head), and handle (for connecting the hoisting machine). It can be used for lifting various spread anchors such as Erection Anchor, Two-hole spread anchor, and so on. Its selection needs to strictly correspond to the Load Groups because the lifting hole and plate thickness of spread anchors need to match its Locking Bolt and the opening of the Head.

 

Production:


Locking Bolt is made using hot forging, Head is precision-cast, Ring is hot-formed, handle is stamped and cut, and overall assembly is riveted and welded.

 

Usage:


Coupling:

Before installation, we need to first inspect its appearance and proceed to the next step only when it's ensured that it can be used normally.

Insert the Spread Anchor into the opening of the Head.

Push the Locking Bolt into the hole of the Spread Anchor as shown in Figure 4.


Lifting:

The handle and ring angle of the Ring Clutch are more flexible.

However, it should not exceed 60° from the gravity direction of the concrete block.



If the shackle is beneath the clutch head when subjected to the load, it may lock in the position illustrated.

The round shackle will become bent then when the load is raised. 



If the shackle is pulled towards the top surface of the slab when subjected to the load, it may become bent on the edge of the slab.

In the upper position, the shackle may lock within the clutch housing.

A narrow lifting cable angle will cause the shackle to become bent. The problem can be overcome by turning the shackle through approx 45°. 

Release:

The Ring Lifting Clutch can be removed only after the concrete block has been lifted to a specific position and the load has been removed.

You can push the Locking Bolt to separate the Head and Spread Anchors as shown in Figure 10.

The separated Clutch should be kept away from Lifting Anchors to prevent accidental reconnection and accidents.

Surface treatment:


There are mainly two types: hot-dip galvanizing and electroplating because they have much better adhesion and impact resistance than powder coating. Electroplating is slightly cheaper than hot-dip galvanizing and more aesthetically pleasing. This is why more people prefer to purchase electroplating.
